i think that these answers are off the target. you want to know which manufacturers are cheating...go to consumerlab.com and for a small fee for a year you can get the results of their laboratory analysis' of products they buy off the shelves. I have been a member and found out for sure which companies are using inferior ingredients and are using more filler than product..good hunting!!

go to vitacost.com. They have good prices, low shipping and great customer service. They are much cheaper than the vitamin shoppe. They also have other helpful information on their website.

Try the Vitamin Shoppe, they have locations across the United States. They tend to carry some of the better brands. Anything by Enzymatic Therapies is very high quality – of course, you’ll pay a little more for it, but at least you know you’re getting good stuff and not just fillers. Also, I really like Nature’s Sunshine Products – their products are like the Mercedes Benz of the supplement world. You can find NSP on the web or else look through your local yellow pages for an independent distrubutor/store.

The vitamins, supplements and remedies I get are all available online for a good price at http://www.iherb.com (not affiliated). They carry quality brands that you can trust but the prices are better than typical health food stores who carry the same thing. What I really like about iHerb is they put the labels online so you can read the ingredients, formulations, etc. It’s better than a trip to the health food store! It never hurts to check into the individual brands either.

For you fish oil, try Carlson’s brand. At iHerb it is about 1/2 price of health food stores. It is tested free of metals and very good. It actually doesn’t taste too bad either.

Specific brands we use and trust are Natural Factors, Garden of Life, Schiff, Enzymedica and Gaia (you won’t find Gaia at iHerb). There are other high quality, reputable brands too. Those just seem to be the ones we gravitate too when deciding.

You are right to question the quality of what you buy. Best to you in your quest for optimum health.
