One of the best ways to lose body fat is by cutting calories. It is proven by research and science that the more calories an individual take in, the more calories their body must use up to prevent gaining weight, especially body fat. If an individual eat lesser calories than they burn, they will lose body fat. So, in the nutshell, losing weight is reducing calorie intake. Do not panic, fortunately, there are plenty of easy and realistic methods in reducing calories without sacrificing a healthy or delicious meal.

Most of the weight loss diets are just a temporary way of losing weight. In order for an individual to reduce calories and convert to a healthy diet, they need to make huge and long lasting changes. Avoiding whole food groups by deprivation or drastically limiting food consumption is not the best way in which to do it. The best and most recommended way to reduce calorie intake is to do it in slow and small ways that will not going to be hard to practice, but have good results. Here are some fantastic ways to cut calories without losing out.

Fat and calories are two very different things. Certain food may be low in fat, but actually, they are loaded with calories. Remember, always read the labels before buying them to make sure that the food is really low in calories.

Cutting Calories Tip 2

Be creative. Use low calorie ingredients to make your favorite traditional dishes. You can easily replace fatty and unhealthy ingredients with healthy low calorie ones in the recipes. Most low calorie food taste just as good as their counter parts.

Cutting Calories Tip 3

Choose lean meats. Choosing lean cuts over fatty ones and trimming the excess fat and taking off the skin from the meat can help you cut down loads of unwanted calories without changing much of the taste.

Cutting Calories Tip 4
Consume low calorie dairy instead of the full cream ones. Little that you realize, by taking low fat dairies, you are able to cut down calories easily. You do not have to change all your dairies to low fat ones, try different low calorie options to see which taste best. One may not like low fat cheese but loves low fat milk.

Cutting Calories Tip 5

Have a meatless meal once or twice a week. Meat contains loads of calories and not to mention the cholesterol. Taking one or two meatless meal a week can help you reduce calories tremendously without mentally affecting you.

Cutting Calories Tip 6

Empty calories are useless calories, so avoid them. You can get empty calories from foods that have no nutritional value at all. A fantastic example of an empty calorie food is soda. Soda contains lots of calories but its not nutritious at all. It also contains lots of sugar and flavoring which is unhealthy for the body.

Cutting Calories Tip 7

Control that alcohol intake. Alcohol is also an empty calorie food. Besides being a useless food, alcohol is also a food that can be consumed without paying much attention being paid to how much they are consuming.
Drinking responsibly is a good thing for everyone, with the added bonus for the waistline.

Ok my particular situation:

Lived in a very stressful situation for 2 yrs and gained 50 lbs from emotional eating and lack of exercise. I can’t seem to get back into a regular workout routine or find ways to make significant calorie cuts.

Any tips on cutting calories that are painless and easy to follow and the best exercise to get back into the swing of things?

I agree it won’t be easy (otherwise I wouldn’t need any tips). But just wondering what works for other people because obviously my way isn’t working so far!

Try 1200 calories a day and start with 30 minutes of exercise..That’s it. A little hard work and discipline will get you there. Remember this, if losing weight and getting fit was "easy" we wouldn’t be having this conversation. We’d all be thin.. Good luck

Once I was done being stressed 24/7 I still had the habit of always shoving food in my face. I started by cutting out the bored snacking and having green tea instead. It’ll be hard, but it gets so much better. Just don’t go on a crash diet because the weight will come right back and they are hard to stick to. You have to change the way you feel about food. Didn’t really diet, just watched what we ate. And we helped each other along the way. Giving each other encouragement and ideas on meals. I lost 15 lbs and went from a size 10 to a size 6. And one girl that had lots to lose, lost a total of 20 inches. We did this in about 3 months. I took my trip and now that I am back we have all decided that we will continue. I highly recommend measuring before you start. Because inches come off here and there that you don’t see right away. And if you measure every 3 weeks and you see them gone it gives you the drive to go on. Our exercise program consisted mostly of low weights for upper body, and squats and leg raises (from the floor) for the lower body. Resistance exercises don’t hurt as much as some others. But they are very effective. You can get started by doing something you like.Walking, bike riding, you get it. Ok Go find some friends, and get going. Good luck

1. Buy a dog – you have to walk it, which will get you outside walking twice a day!!
2. Park in the last row at work and when shopping so you have to walk further. Try walking a little faster, too. Take the stairs rather than the elevator (unless you work on the 20th floor!!)
3. See if someone at work wants to start walking at lunch or break time. Even 15 minutes walking is better than nothing!!
4. Maybe look at some exercises you can do while watching TV? Even just walking in place, pumping your arms is good.
5. buy some small weights, 3 lbs, and do some curls while watching TV or while at your desk.
6. You can also buy ankle weights and wear them around the house while cleaning.
7. If you like to read or listen to music, you can go to the gym and bicycle while you read or listen!!

Snacks:
Carrots and ranch, put into small bags and containers so they are easy to take to work.
Put a cookie or two, a small handful of chips into small bags and take to work. These are instead of buying those expensive and big bags of chips and chocolate!!
Nuts are good in small quanitities, as well as fruit.
Take time to pack a lunch so you’re not at the vending machine or going out for fast food at work.
Popcorn is also good.
