I’m trying to eat less processed foods, but does that mean I can’t get things like breads and pastas? Does it make it any better if I make them from scratch?
Depends on the ingredients you use. Less processed ingredients can be found, sometimes not as easily, but usually at natural foods stores. So, no it does not mean that you cannot get foods like breads and pastas. Foods from scratch are generally better because of taste and you control what goes in them. You can also customize ingredients to your taste.

Natural mechanisms and techniques that one could employ in the lead detoxification process include antioxidation, herbs, and dietary fiber.
Anti-oxidation
Some very common sources of antioxidants are vitamins A, C, and E. Besides vitamins, antioxidants are present in various herbs like aloe vera, garlic, ginger, green tea, and cilantro. Certain essential amino acids, glycine and selenium and zinc are also rich sources of anti-oxidants.
The anti-oxidants present in these Vitamins, minerals, and herbs, help destroy disease-causing free radicals and also eliminate lead from the human body.
The human body cannot produce these antioxidants or vitamins that contain these antioxidants, hence they have to be consumed or supplemented. Vitamin C, for example, is found in citrus fruits like oranges and by including fresh orange juice or lemon juice into the diet one can ensure one has a good supply of antioxidants that helps strengthen the immune system, fight diseases, and eliminate lead toxins from the human body.

Grilled Tilapia Tacos and Avocado Salsa, How To Cook Healthy For $10 or Less
Shawna Coronado and Chef Ryan Hutmacher, “The Centered Chef”, prepare a healthy meal for four of Grilled Tilapia Tacos and Avocado Salsa for $10 or less. Each meal in the Living Lean & Green cooking series is prepared utilizing fresh, sustainably grown, organic vegetables from Shawna’s front lawn vegetable garden.
In today’s difficult economy, one of the most challenging things to do is to feed our family good, nutritious, chemical-free food for a reasonable price. This need has inspired a video series called “Living Lean & Green; How To Cook Healthy For $10 or Less”.
Chef Ryan Hutmacher, The Centered Chef of Centered Chef Food Studios (http://www.centeredchef.com), cooking with me (Shawna Coronado – http://www.thecasualgardener.com) in my front lawn vegetable garden. Together, we are creating meals which cost a family of four $10 or less to prepare and features organic vegetables I have grown myself.
Our goal is to show the everyday person that it is possible to grow your own vegetables sustainably, then use these vegetables to feed a family of four on the cheap utilizing Chef Ryan’ Hutmacher’s amazingly healthy recipes.
Sponsored by Aquascape Inc., this ten recipe video series shows vegetables watered with a rain-water cistern and grown at my home in the front lawn of a Chicagoland suburban community — something any family can do to help feed themselves in this down economic time.
Today’s Grilled Tilapia Tacos and Avocado Salsa recipe features tomatoes I grew myself.
