Im 17 and looking for a good supplement that will help gain muscle over the summer for my football season next year. I hear taking Supplements will help you gain muscle but after a month of not working out the muscle turns into flab.I looking for a affordable protien mix that will help achieve about at 50% of max now. My maxes are: bench 165 squat 255. If any you guys out their would recommend some good workouts.

The best product you can take is a chemical free whey protein. Whey is easily absorbed and aids greatly in tissue repair. Focus on your nutrition as well

I believe that it is possible to stay healthy into ripe old age and to prevent, stabilise and even perhaps to reverse, many of the chronic degenerative diseases.

Underpinning all my research and advice is this simple fact. Given the right nutrition and lifestyle, our bodies have amazing powers of self-healing and regeneration.

They have to because almost every cell and tissue in your body breaks down and is replaced on a regular basis. Bone is re-absorbed into the body and then renewed, cartilage in joints experiences wear and tear but is renewed, membranes of nerve and other cells are broken down and replaced.

This natural process of wear and repair is going on all the time in your trillions of cells. The process of growth and re-growth in bones, cartilage and other tissues is called anabolic. The process of tissue breakdown is called catabolic.
Nutrition and Your Mental Health

What does nutrition have to do with mental health? You might be surprised to find out the truth behind what happens when a person has a nutritional deficiency.

Nutritional deficiencies can cause all sorts of psychiatric symptoms including apathy, low energy, irritability, insomnia, low energy, agitation, fatigue, concentration problems, aches and pains, weight changes, including weight loss or weight gain. Sound a lot like the symptoms of depression? The truth is the average American diet of fast food is low in vital nutrition that you need for your body to function correctly.

This isn’t to say that all depression is caused by bad nutrition but it’s certainly a contributing factor in many cases and poor nutrition will always make depression worse. Antidepressant drugs also do not correct nutritional problems. So if your depressed because of nutritional problems an antidepressant will only partially cover up the problem and you body still won’t function correctly.

I eat a lot. Junk food, whatever, but I can’t seem to gain weight ever.
Its probably genetics.

So I was wondeirng if any of you had the same problem, and i notice they have Supplements that do help in weight gain, but im not sure if they work.

Do you know of any that is a good choice?

Yeah it’s genetics, i was the same way, 130 lbs at 5”6, but i started a new workout plan. I finally gained the weight, don’t try supplements, its just a waste of money, i tried weight gainer triple X, mass XXX amplified mass, LOTS of stuff lets just say. My 18 months old daughter is very picky eater. Her doctor recommended me to give her some vitamin Supplements but didn’t say the brand.

That young, you should really give them like the Enfamil supplement drops. When she is 2, you can start to give her the regular Vitamins like the flintstones or gummies because they’re for ages 2 and up. I will warn you though, babies do NOT like the drops, and I don’t blame them they smell bad and I bet they taste worse!

You are indeed looking for the best anti aging supplement in the market then there are certain things to consider. As the name suggest, supplements are usually incorporated in the diet to help boost the system. This means that you would still need to get the proper nutrition and live a healthy lifestyle in order to gain the most benefits from your anti aging supplements.

Start off your regimen by consulting your doctor. A complete check up is a vital part in maintaining young so do not cop out on this procedure.

Your diet should be rich in fiber, healthy oils, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. 3 servings of whole grains per day can help flush away the toxins from your diet. Try to incorporate more organic barley, brown rice, bulgar, millet, oatmeal, quinoa, and spelt into your meal plans. Olive oil and salmon are the best sources of healthy oils. Vitamin C and Vitamin E rich foods include broccoli, spinach, papaya, strawberry, mangoes and other dark leafy vegetables. You could also add fried chicken liver to gain the same benefits. Green tea has high levels of anti-oxidants which can make your skin look youthful and keeping it elastic at the same time.

Get enough sleep per day. 8 to 10 hours may sound like a luxury, but your body needs this in order to keep you fit and healthy. Try also to get a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio workout daily. Walking is always a good choice. As for supplements, it is always best to ask your doctor about which ones are suitable for your condition, and just how much you should take on a daily basis. Try not to self-medicate especially if you are already taking other prescription medicines or have other pre-existing medical conditions.

However, some of the best sources of age defying supplements are those that are high in Vitamins C and Vitamins E. Both of these have anti-oxidants properties that protect the skin from further “weathering” from the elements. At the same time, these promote skin cell rejuvenation that can speed up the process of removing damaged skin, and replacing these with healthier looking dermis.

Some of the key components you should look at for in these supplements are: extracts if Kakadu plum (contains about 3,100 mg / 100 g); Acerola (1,600 mg.); Baobab (400 mg.); Black currant (200 mg.); Camu Camu (2,800 mg.); Indian gooseberry (445 mg.); Jujube (500 mg.); Rose hip (2,000 mg.); and Seabuckthorn (695 mg.). Vitamin C or ascorbic acid supplements may be essential to your diet, but you would need to ask your doctor about recommended dosage. The same can be said of Vitamin E supplements.

Multivitamin supplements may have very low levels of Vitamin C or Vitamin E, but they do contain other essential minerals that can help you remain in tiptop form. Some of these minerals are biotin, calcium, chromium, folate, iodine, iron, magnesium, Vitamins B1 to B6, Vitamin K, and zinc.

Fiber supplements may not be necessary especially if you increase the organic or natural plant fibers your diet. Some of the best sources are: Asian pear, legumes (beans, peas, lentils and soybeans); prunes, quinoa and wheat bran. Other sources include: barley, broccoli, carrots, oats, onions, plums, potatoes, rye, sweet potatoes, and psyllium seed husk.

Might sound strange but are there Supplements we should be taking in form of tablets, capsules or liquid form that we do not get from food? Or maybe it can be found in food but these foods are only found at the other side of the world?

Saw something called Ginkgo Biloba and another supplements called q10 enzyme and to be honest they both do not sound as if they can be found in foods?

So am guessing we should be buying these and taking them?

supplements are just that, supplemental. they add to your nutrition. Co-enzyme Q10 is something your body makes, it’s just that as you age, less is produced, so when you are in your fourties, Q10 is something to consider taking.
Gingko Biloba, has antioxidants, they clean your blood, they do not add to nutrition. If you eat a balanced diet and avoid processed food, you get all the nutrition you need. Just remember that as you age, there are supplements that can improve your health and well being, because your body begins to fail at making adequate amounts.
Things you can research, start with Dr Louis Ignarro and his book NO More Heart Disease. Look into DHEA supplements, and also Co-Enzyme Q 10, these are all supplements that help in the aging process, not necessarily nutritional process.
