In partnership with FaveDiets ( http://www.FaveDiets.com ) recipe site, this recipe is a continuation of my Thanksgiving series of recipes. My daughter wanted to make her favorite low carb roll/bun recipe, and she requests to make it at the holiday times. This recipe is not Induction Friendly, so for those still on Induction wanting rolls on Thanksgiving, they should try my Atkins Diet Revolution Rolls recipe (http://bit.ly/9ck1EX) instead. These garlic cheddar biscuits are very similar to ones served at Red Lobster except much lower carb.

This recipe features Carbquik and while not Induction friendly, it is a good commercial alternative for many low carb baking mix. I used to always buy mine at Amazon, but lately Netrition has been the better buy ( http://bit.ly/9WmKCl ) . If you are looking for a non-commercial alternative, check out Jennifer Eloff’s recipe for Biskmix in Splendid Low Carbing for Life volume 2.

Ingredients:
2 cups Carbquik
1/2 cup butter
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Italian Seasoning
2 oz Cheddar Cheese, shredded
Pinch Salt
1/4 cup Heavy Cream
1/4 cup Water
Bake for 8-10 minutes @ 450 degrees.
Nutrition Info:
158 Calories, 15g Fat, 10g Carbs (8g Fiber) , 5g Protein

In partnership with FaveDiets ( http://www.FaveDiets.com ) recipe site, this recipe is a continuation of my Thanksgiving series of recipes. This is a really simple recipe that can be made a day before the big event. The dressing is a simple concoction that I use in many different recipes from Cole Slaw to lettuce salads. You control the sweetness and tartness for your own tastes. My Grandma used to make a higher carb version of this recipe (with real sugar) almost every Sunday for family dinners, and I was happy that the low carb version will pass anyone’s test. It also adds to a colorful table and plate.

Ingredients:
Low Carb 7-Layer Salad
Layer 1- 1/2 to 1 head Lettuce
Layer 2- 1 cup Mayo Dressing (Mayo, Vinegar, Splenda), Dash of Salt & Pepper
Layer 3- Half Red Onion
Layer 4- 2 Stalks Celery
Layer 5- 2-3 Eggs, Hard-boiled
Layer 6- 6 oz Cheddar Cheese, Shredded (Optional: add 1/2 cup Peas)
Layer 7- 6 slices Bacon

Nutrition Info: (makes 12 servings)
227 Calories, 21g Fat, 2.3g Carbs (1g Fiber) , 6.5g Protein
Note: if you add the peas as I did, increase the nutritional information by .5 net carbs and 5 Calories per serving.

In partnership with FaveDiets ( http://www.FaveDiets.com ) recipe site, this recipe is a continuation of my Thanksgiving series of recipes. I wanted to get this video uploaded as soon as I could for I knew it was hotly anticipated by some. I gave two options for this recipe, and you can select either one depending on your level of the diet (Phase 1 Induction or post-Induction OWL phase or later). Either recipe is delicious, and works well. The Induction-friendly flax bread recipe ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DX7wrTX8ybQ ) is perhaps closer to a corn-bread stuffing. I will say this moisture is your friend, so if you want to use 1.5 or 2 cups chicken broth, it would not be out of line.
Ingredients
2 pounds of Sausage (or 1# Sausage & 1# ground beef)
5 slices Low Carb bread or 4 batches of Flax Bread
1 cup Chicken Broth
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp Poultry Seasoning
1 cup Onions, chopped
1 cup Celery, chopped
2-3 TBS Butter
Makes 10 Servings.

Nutrition Info (OWL Phase – Low Carb Bread):
202 Calories, 16g Fat, 5g Carbs (1.3g Fiber) , 11g Protein
Nutrition Info (Induction Friendly w/ Flax Bread):
** My Low Carb Blog – http://www.atkinsdietgeek.com **
In partnership with FaveDiets ( http://www.FaveDiets.com ) recipe site, one of my fellow recipe vloggers and friends, SmokeyGoodness, (http://www.youtube.com/user/SmokeyGoodness), asked me for my recipe for the ribs I made last weekend. It just so happened that St. Louis-style ribs again were on special for an awesome $1.59 per pound at my local grocer. I was happy enough to oblige him with this video. In an era of nearly $4/lb bacon, ribs are a fantastic deal and serve as great way to continue the grilling season.

I prefer the slow cook method to grilling ribs and chose to use the oven instead of the grill or smoker (which I don’t have) simply to preserve my propane supply as long as possible. SmokeyGoodness used his charcoal grill in his 4-Flip Ribs (http://bit.ly/9KaL2p) for that purpose. I’ll fully admit that is a better solution, but I don’t have a charcoal option currently.

A couple final notes:
** My Low Carb Blog – http://www.atkinsdietgeek.com **
In partnership with FaveDiets ( http://www.FaveDiets.com ) recipe site, I wanted to produce an original recipe that was developed out of a comment made on my buffalo wings about using diet orange soda instead of cola. I took that idea and thought about making orange chicken out of the idea. I am pretty pleased with the outcome, but if you aren’t a huge fan of spicy foods, you might want to back off the crushed red pepper amount. Note: even though the carbs are less than 3g per servings, this recipe as made is not Induction friendly, but I have provided the options on how to make it Induction friendly.

The chicken strips sans the orange sauce also make delicious meal too. I was almost tempted to make two separate videos because the chicken strips are that good, but I’ll likely just refer to this one in the future.

I hope you guys like this original creation.

Ingredients:
3 Large Chicken Breasts, cut into small pieces
2 eggs
1 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
1/2 cup Splendid Baking Mix
1/2 cup Heavy Cream
1/2 cup Soy Sauce
1 can Diet Orange Soda (sweetened with Splenda)
1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
1/2 tsp Crushed Red Pepper
1/2 tsp Xanthan Gum
1 tsp Orange Peel, shredded

Serving Size: (makes 5-6 servings)
469 Calories, 25g Fat, 3g Carbs, 55g Protein

(IF* = Induction Friendly – only if followed the listed substitutions)

In partnership with FaveDiets (http://www.FaveDiets.com) recipe site, I wanted to produce a low carb dessert recipe. I first tried this recipe a few weeks ago, and my wife said this coconut cream pie was definitely “video worthy.” (to paraphrase Seinfeld). The original recipe can be found here (http://bit.ly/ckkDVH), and was posted by LoCarbingMe. This recipe is not Induction Friendly due to the presence of coconut (3rd rung of OWL), but then again not all life should be restricted by Induction ingredients.

I think you’ll like this easy to make dessert.

Ingredients:
4 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup butter – soften
1/2 tsp Salt, Kosher
1 tsp Vanilla
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
2/3 cup Splenda, granulated or liquid equivalent
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup Raw Coconut
1/2 cup Low Carb Baking Mix (optional)
Blend together, and bake for 45 minutes @ 350 degrees.

Nutritional Info: (8 servings)
