Irritable Bowel Syndrome, it is suggested, is a lifestyle-induced disorder. This also means that gaining relief from IBS is often something we can control through self-management and dietary changes. So, it is useful to be aware of the food Irritable Bowel Syndrome symptoms are often linked to.

Irritable bowel syndrome is associated with a number of symptoms, which can often be confused with other conditions are similarities, so this can make it difficult to diagnose.

The most prevalent symptoms include:

- Bloating and gas
- Constipation or diarrhea
- Urge for bowel movement immediately after food, generally breakfast
- Pain or cramping

Merely the presence of the above symptoms does not indicate that one has IBS. For instance, constipation not unusual, but it may not relate to IBS.

Similarly if you have a tendency for gas formation, there are chances that you have a minor digestive problem.

However, if you have some of these symptoms over a prolonged period of time, it may be indicative of IBS.

Continue reading to discover how to sign up for our free relieving IBS newsletter and find out how to relieve IBS symptoms naturally.

The final word, however, lies with your doctor. There are a number of medical tests that the doctor might conduct to ascertain whether a patient has IBS or not. Besides blood tests and physical test, the doctor may also conduct an endoscopy to eliminate any other potential causes.

As discussed above, IBS is a lifestyle disorder. On determining that a patient is suffering from IBS, the doctor might advise efforts to reduce stress besides diet changes. A carefully planned diet change plan can go a long way in alleviating symptoms of IBS.

As a person starts a treatment plan it is normal to reduce or eliminate the intake of trigger food, those foods that cause the IBS symptoms to flare up.

Some examples of the foods that are considered trigger foods include:

Dairy products – should be avoided, especially if you are lactose intolerant. Dairy products are generally high in fat, and even low fat alternatives should be avoided as they can trigger IBS symptoms. This means avoiding foods like milk, butter, cheese, cream, ice cream, and cottage cheese. It also means that these foods should not be included in recipes.

Red meats – should be avoided, as they are rich foods and generally high in fat and harder to digest. This includes all processed red meats as well, including sausages, hamburgers, ham and cured and smoked meats.

The dark meat of poultry should be avoided and poultry should be skinned before consumption. The white meat is fine to eat.

Foods that are high in fat should also be avoided, and foods that are prepared using a lot of fat or cooked in fat. This would include many foods that are not obviously deep-fried, so check the labels of any foods you add to the shopping basket.

It is recommended that the foods you chose to eat are bought are fresh and organic (where possible), and that processed goods are reduced or eliminated from the diet. Preservatives and additives can make IBS symptoms worse.

The bottom line is that for effected people, knowing which food Irritable Bowel Syndrome symptoms are triggered by will help to reduce the flare-ups and allow better management of the symptoms.

Just check out google for “Atkins Diet” and “high protein,” and you’ll see how prevalent this misconception is.

USDA Food Pyramid Standard for Protein:
10-35% of Total Calories
http://health.msn.com/weight-loss/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100186268
http://www.health.gov/DietaryGuidelines/dga2005/document/html/chapter5.htm

With 35% being the standard for high protein, what does Dr. Atkins recommend?
“The macro-nutrient breakout in the Induction phase is 60 percent fat, 30 percent protein and 10 percent carbohydrate. It should be more appropriately be called a high fat regimen. As you progress through the phases, your percentage of fat naturally diminishes as your percentage of carbohydrates increases.” Even in DANDR, he cautions against going high protein on page 43,
“No, because when you cut out fat, what is left is protein and carbohydrate, both of which can produce a blood-sugar response. Fat is the only substance that won’t have an impact on your blood sugar. It also provides essential fatty acids you can’t get from protein or carbohydrates. Contrary to much of what you may have heard, fat can be good for you! (43)”

Dangers of low fat, low carb, high protein diet:
Sources:
* http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Rabbit-starvation
* http://www.medbio.info/Horn/PDF%20files/rabbit%20starvation.pdf

Rabbit starvation is the form of acute malnutrition caused by excess consumption of any lean meat (e.g. rabbit) coupled with a lack of other sources of nutrients usually in combination with other stressors, such as severe cold or dry environment. Symptoms include diarrhea, headache, lassitude, a vague discomfort and hunger that can only be satisfied by consumption of fat or carbohydrates.

How much protein is advisable:
*** .8 – 1.2g per kg of body weight – normal adults, or roughly 72g to 109g per day for 200 pound adult
*** Up to 1.6g per kg – for extremely active or weight lifting adults, or 145g for 200 pound adult (29%)

I am sure you have or will go through phases of your muscle building training where you look in the mirror and go “jeez, do I got to take steriods to get big?” I have trained on and off since I was 21 years old. I am 47 now. Every time I start training again I go full into it training like an animal and thinking 24/7 about getting huge and strong like a bull. And after about 6-8 months I give up in desperation. I have to blame guys like arnold for the misinformation thats out there. Well the last time I got back into it 1 1/2 years ago I vowed that no matter what I wasnt going to quit. I figured that at some point the muscles HAVE to cry uncle and I was right!! The lonest I had stuck to training before was 9 months. This time, when I hit the 1 year mark (last June 2008) I started to see real results. The following are the exact secrets I used and have to credit a top natural bodybuilder for. At the end of this artcle Ill give you a link to a website where you can download a muscle building ebook by him along with muscle building recipes that are high protein and low fat.

1) train a body only once a week!!

I know a lot of you have to be giving the middle finger about this one but trust me! By giving your muscles a week to recover you NEVER overtrain, and they never get a chance to plateau.

2) train only 1 body part a day. with 7 days a week that lets you kill 7 bodyparts in a week

Mon-Chest, Tues-Shoulders, Wed-Back, Thurs-Biceps/Triceps, Fri-Front/Back thigh, Sat-Calves, Sunday-Off. With your abs, since your not actually trying to get them huge, you should probably train them 3 times a week but you only need a couple of good sets maybe 3.

3) Do only 5-6 sets per body part. Not per exersice, per bodypart! Do 2 or 3 moderate intensity sets to pump blood into the muscle part and get it ready for whats next.

4) For set 4 do this exactly and I promise you wont be sorry, you may hate me while your doing it, but you wont be sorry. I call this secret the neverending set method. Pick a heavy weight. Something you could do about 8 reps with. Set a timer for 2 minutes. DONT PUT THE WEIGHT DOWN UNTIL THE TIMER RINGS. after about 25 seconds you will have done your 8 reps but from then on just continue doing partials, you could even rest for about 5-10 seconds between each rep to give blood a chance to flood the muscle, but keep going no matter what. Remember to breath heavy so you dont have to stop from being out of breath. The 5-10 second rest between reps will save you. If you have done this correctly when the timer goes off you prolly will be cheating like a monkey just to get the weight to move a couple of inches. After this set rest about 3-4 minutes and do two more moderate intensity reps with a lighter weight something where you can do about 12 or so reps. The point of these last to sets is to keep the blood flowing into the now destroyed muscle. Basically, what your doing here with this neverending set is basically letting the muscle know that it better grow and get stronger or its going to perish!!

5)It doesnt matter one bit which exersices you do!! You dont have to bench press to have a big chest. You dont have to do military presses to get big shoulders. You dont have to squat to have big thighs!! I do flies for my chest, lateral raises for my shoulders, and leg extensions for my thighs. A muscle doesnt know shit about which exersice your doing. All it knows is your beating the shit out of it and it WILL respond with growth and strength. Guys like Arnold are idiots and he got the way he did either because of steroids or because he was incredibly genetically gifted. He trained 6 days a week twice a day for 2 hours each workout. What a jackass.

6)Eat frequently but dont bulk. Fish, Chicken, Fruits, Vegetables are the order of the day. Not big macs and fries. (they do taste damned good though dont they) In this web address Im about to give you you can download an ebook that expands on what this article talks about. It was written by a top bodybuilder named Sean somethingorother. I have seen before and after pics of him. He didnt use steroids, he weight about 130 lbs when he started. He looks like a damned string bean. Here is a <a href=”www.musclegaintruth.com/images/sean-before.jpg”>pic</a> him when he started Here is a <a href=”www.musclegaintruth.com/images/seanafter3.jpg”>pic</a> of him a few years later

I got my hands on a couple of his ebook tutorials…(tee hee) and it works. Go to this site to download his three ebooks free One is on building muscle fast, another on is on burning fat and another one on some really tasty recipes that are high protein and low fat so you pack on muscle and not fat.

<a href=”www.fat-to-firm.com”>www.fat-to-firm.com</a> And here is a little secret. The website says you have to give them your email address to get the ebooks but I did it and I never got spammed so they dont abuse the info. If you have any problems you can email me and Ill send you the ebooks.

I promise if you follow the above principals you’ll be kicking sand in your grandmothers face in no time
